In 2008, it was decided that the City of Hot Springs KidLink Web site needed a facelift. The Public Information Department, which manages the city's Web presence, began a quest for a partner in this effort. The PI Department also envisioned a new site built with the input of Hot Springs youth. Having had very positive experiences with other local EAST Lab departments, they began a collaborative relationship with the Lakeside High School EAST Lab. Facilitator Mary Vitro selected two of her students to work with Public Information Assistant/City Webmaster Jeff Fields.

A series of bi-weekly meetings was arranged between Jeff Fields and the EAST Lab participants. With the PI Assistant's guidance, the students gathered resources and began the site-building phase. By the end of the school year, after many challenges and metamorphoses, the new CiviKidz site took shape, culminating in what you see here.

Area youth are encouraged to comment on this site via email. Let us know how we can improve CiviKidz.
All constructive input will be reviewed and considered.
