Airport, Municipal

At the city’s newly-renovated 840-acre airport there are 100 based aircraft, occupying 70 hangars of various types, along with numerous transient aircraft at the airport. Services include fueling, parking, tie down and private hangars. An adjacent fire station services the airport.

The airport leases spaces to 77 tenants, including nine aviation related industries and seven non-aviation related industries, representing an annual payroll of more than $6.5 million. The airport is self-supporting with revenue from aviation fuel sales and hangar, terminal building and grounds rental fees.

Hot Springs Office and Technology Park, an 87-acre site with a 38,000 square foot speculative building at the airport’s south end, offers high-tech companies access to wide bandwidth communications through Southwestern Bell’s fiber optic network.

Families come to Hot Springs Memorial Field for special events such as race competitions and vintage aircraft displays. Airport visitors are welcome, and guided group tours are available.

SeaPort offers commercial air service to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas; Harrison, Arkansas; and Kansas City, Missouri from Hot Springs Memorial Field.  For more information, visit www.SeaPortAirlines.com .

Traditional Art Guild Airport Art Display

Since November 2007, the Traditional Art Guild has partnered with Hot Springs Memorial Field to enhance the walls of the terminal building with monthly art displays by guild members. The exhibits begin with a welcome reception for the artist from 1 to 3 p.m. on the third Saturday of the month.

“Launching monthly art exhibits at the airport fits well with our philosophy of continually changing and renewing this facility,” said Airport Director George Downie. “The airport should reflect the community, and our city is strongly arts-oriented. We feel that adding local artworks will not only enhance the terminal building, but also heighten the public’s awareness of the impact of the arts in Hot Springs.”
