The Parks Department is responsible for the care, maintenance, development, and promotion of: 17 city parks totaling 160 acres, the downtown historic district, 30 acres of landscaped parkway, 8 miles hiking and biking trails, and the city's annual holiday lighting displays. Cooperative programs include coordination of volunteer activities and projects, participation/partnerships with other community service providers and grant preparation/administration.

Park Pavilions, ponds, activity areas  and playing fields including leagues, tournaments and special events, may be reserved by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 501-321-6871 or filling out the Event Request Form.
