Inclement Weather Procedure
For Field/Facility Rental at Kimery Park

Revised: 12-18-2003

Field Condition Cancellations:
(e.g. lightning, tornado, snow, saturated infield or outfield, etc.):

If at any time the Parks and Recreation Representative* determines that any field is not safe for participant use and/or cannot be used without creating damage or the potential for damage to the field or facility, the fields/facilities may not be used. The decision of Parks & Recreation personnel is final. We ask your cooperation in caring for our fields and facilities in such a way as to safeguard your safety and preserve our facilities and fields for future and continued use.

Parks and Recreation will make every effort to make such decisions in a timely manner but does reserve the right to make such decisions as needed even when advance notice is not possible.

If you need to reschedule a facility/field due to rain-outs or other weather related conditions, please call the main office of Parks and Recreation

Please note:
During morning and early afternoon rain events, every effort will be made to have the fields playable for the reserving party by the rental time. However, if this is not possible, the decision by Parks and Recreation to cancel the game/program/event is final.

Programs Cancelled by the Renter: If you/your organization is/are holding a camp program or an on-going class program at an outdoor Parks and Recreation field/facility and inclement weather necessitates the cancellation your program, the main office of Parks and Recreation must be notified as soon as possible. If your programs are held in the evening, we ask that you make a decision by 4:30 p.m. and notify our office of that decision as early as possible so that we may give the public accurate information if they call us regarding your program.

When possible, Parks and Recreation will work with the group sponsoring the camp, program or class to reschedule usage time or issue a refund as stated in Resolution 4814. There is no guarantee that such rescheduling will be possible especially during heavy usage times.

*The Departmental Representative is determined by the Parks and Recreation Director.
