In today’s digital communication age, citizens expect prompt, accurate and complete information on city services and events. Public Information, as the communications link between citizens and city government, handles more than 25,000 public inquiries per year. It operates a 24-hour Action Line, 321-6808, for citizen convenience.
Dial the Action Line any time of day or night to record your message. The next business day, it will be forwarded to the proper city department for action.
Besides publishing internal and external communications, publicizing city departments’ services and activities, managing the city’s Web site at www.cityhs.net, and producing special events, Public Information also maintains HSTV-15, Hot Springs’ government access cable television channel. HSTV-15 broadcasts computer-produced messages on city programs, street closings, community events and much more. It also airs live city board meetings and Inside Hot Springs, a semi-monthly program on city services and events; in-house produced programs; and government-related programs provided by partner agencies. Public Information also oversees the Sister City Program, in partnership with the Hot Springs National Park Sister City Foundation.
