Farmers' Market Pavilion Project |
|||||
The Friends of the Farmers' Market is spearheading a project to fund and construct a Hot Springs Farmers' Market and Festival Marketplace, an open-air pavilion for farmers and other groups to use year-round. The Hot Springs Board of Directors approved the draft design and the proposed location, which is in the Transportation Plaza near East Grand. Proposed funding sources are government and foundation grants, private and corporate gifts, and Friends of the Farmers' Market memberships. No local taxpayer dollars are being sought for the project. The project's first grant of $12,000 was presented to the Friends of the Farmers' Market by the Garland County Master Gardeners with legislative funding secured by State Senator Terry Smith. For details or to volunteer to help make this project a reality, contact Cynthia Keheley. |
