Last leaves falling, kettle bubbling, work made easy, friendships doubling. Many hands join, make the jobs fly. Soon the apples all are cooked. Table groaning, dishes clatter, people mingling, happy chatter. Some have farm roots; different histories. All are family in this place.
Joined together, take turns stirring, swapping stories, wood smoke blurring. Good food sharing, good friends making: Apple Butter Slow Food day.
