The Mayor's Youth Council and the Parks and Recreation Mobile Activity Center will participate in the Recovery Walk, a celebration of recovery from addiction, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Hot Springs Creek Greenway, adjacent to the Boys and Girls Club at Belding and Shady Grove.
The MYC will host a booth where participants can make a card of encouragement to send to someone in treatment. The MAC booth will feature a Recovery Mural where participants can create a celebratory mural to be hung at a local treatment center. Other event activities include a Wall of
Hope, a Living Wreath in memory of those not yet in recovery, food vendors, speakers, local merchant booths and a variety of games and children’s activities. For information on the Recovery Walk, call 767-4456. For information on the Mayor's Youth Council or Mobile Activity Center, call 321-6871.
