PARKS & RECREATION NAMED ARPA
“AGENCY OF THE QUARTER”

The Hot Springs Parks & Recreation Department is featured as the Agency of the Quarter in the current issue of the Arkansas Recreation & Parks Association newsletter, “The Quarterly.”

Parks & Recreation received the honor for recent accomplishments at Entergy and Kimery city parks, along with its new Mobile Activity Center (MAC) Summer Program. The MAC is a drop-in mobile recreation program at various area parks, offering educational presentations, games, arts and crafts with a weekly theme.

The department’s dedication in July of a new courtesy boat dock at Entergy Park, along with the renaming of the tennis courts at Kimery Park in September as the George Caristianos Tennis Facility, in honor of a long-term tennis teacher and supporter, also helped earn the award. For more information on Parks & Recreation programs and activities, call 321-6871.
