With the theme “Art is in the Air,” the works of watercolorist Kathyrn Curry will soar to new heights, although they won’t leave the ground. The public is invited to an opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 in Hot Springs Memorial Field’s airport terminal building, 525 Airport Road. The collection will remain on display until January 14.
Curry describes her craft making and painting efforts as a hobby and a sanity saver. “Hopping from milestone to milestone – marriage, babies, graduations and fantastic grandchildren, I realized that deep inside of me was an artist. Thank goodness for Hobby Lobby!”
Curry’s work has been exhibited at the Artists’ Workshop Gallery in Hot Springs, and at art shows in Magnolia and DeQueen, Arkansas. She is a member of the Traditional Art Guild and Mid-Southern Watercolorists, Inc.
The airport continues a year-long schedule of rotating exhibits, with an opening reception on the third Saturday of each month.
For more information on the airport exhibit, contact Louton at 622-3100.
