A special amphibian and reptile M.A.C. program will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday June 12 at Hollywood Park, 411 Hollywood Avenue. Ouachita National Forest Monitoring Program Coordinator Betty Crump will address a variety of issues concerning animals, their habitat and how to make it a better world for them.
The Mobile Activity Center (M.A.C.) is a mobile recreation program offering fun, games, arts and crafts with a weekly theme that’s coming to area parks now through August 14. Sponsored by the Hot Springs Parks and Recreation Department, the program is geared for school-age youth, but all ages are welcome. Youth under age 5 must be accompanied by an adult or guardian, while children 5 -7 are requested to have a parent or older sibling in attendance.
Each week, the M.A.C. program will have a different theme, such as Nature and U, Splashy U and Creative U. Miss Dee will bring the white city van along with fun and games according to the following schedule:
- Entergy Park: Mondays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Family Park: Tuesdays, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
- Wade Street Park: Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
- Hollywood Park: Thursdays, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
