It’s not too early for groups, businesses and organizations to begin working on their entries for the 2008 Christmas Parade, to be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2008 in downtown Hot Springs. The rain date is Sunday, December 7 at 3 p.m.
This year’s theme is “Colors of Christmas.” Entry forms are available in the online Document Center on the City of Hot Springs’ Web site, www.cityhs.net. Documents can be mailed or faxed to Dave Hoffman, 106 Ridgeway #E, Hot Springs, AR 71901, fax 318-1121, e-mail hri@hrintl.com. The entry deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, November 14.
One representative for each parade entry must attend a mandatory meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 30 in the Transportation Depot, 100 Broadway Terrace. Parade numbers and additional information will be distributed at the meeting.
Groups including floats, bands, marching and walking groups, horses, color guards, bicyclists and others are encouraged to plan early for a quality parade entry. Volunteers are needed to help pace the parade evenly throughout the route. No vendors will be allowed during the parade.
