The public is invited to attend a free healthy living exhibit at the Historic Downtown Farmers’ Market to kick off America On the Move Week with the Hot Springs Family YMCA from 8 to 10 a.m. this Saturday. Events will include information regarding healthy lifestyles and wellness, cooking demonstrations, fitness demonstrations, nutrition/skincare information and giveaways. Participants are encouraged to log on to inspirewellness.com, complete the Stanford Health and Lifestyle Assessment, and bring their summary report to the event to begin a conversation on how to improve their overall health and wellness.
Saturday’s “Music at the Market” features the music of Often Running from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The Malvern-based bluegrass group consists of band members Ben Cardin, banjo; Chris Smith, bass; Don Grigsby, guitar; and Ken Parker, fiddle and mandolin.
Fresh, local produce currently in season now includes Molly Reds (early Arkansas apples). Homemade soap, baked goods, honey, grass fed beef, and handmade crafts are also available. The market operates from 6 to 11 a.m. in the Transportation Plaza near the intersection of Orange Street and Broadway Avenue.
Free adjacent parking is provided at the market, which operates on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings through the end of October. For more information, call Bea Arline, 321-6871.
