CITY FINANCE DEPARTMENT OFFERS GAAP TELECONFERENCE

Certified public accounts and other finance professionals are invited to register for the 13th annual Governmental GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Procedures) Update by satellite teleconference, to be held from noon until 5 p.m. on Thursday, November 6 in the City Hall Board Chambers, 133 Convention Boulevard.
            Hosted by the Hot Springs Finance Department, the program will provide a comprehensive and practical overview of the major developments in accounting and financial reporting during the past year that affect state and local governments, with special emphasis on the activities of the Governmental Accounting Standards Board. Hosted nationally by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), this training opportunity is attended by more than 3,000 accounting and auditing professionals annually.
            An online registration form and fee schedule is available at www.gfoa.org.   Registrants are asked to notify the Finance Department of their enrollment by calling 321-6822. The class provides four hours of CPE credit.
