CITY LAUNCHES NEW WEB SITE FEATURES

The City of Hot Springs’ Web site, www.cityhs.net, now features two new sections to keep residents updated on major city projects and initiatives.
An animated water-drop icon on the city’s home page leads residents to a new section updating them on the progress of the proposed Lake Hamilton Water Treatment Plant project.  “We’re dedicated to providing the latest information about ongoing efforts to expand our water treatment facilities,” said Steve Mallett, Deputy City Manager for Public Works and Utilities.  “This project is of great importance to the public, and the Web section allows residents to gather information and ask questions as the project progresses.  Residents can e-subscribe to receive project updates by clicking on the hotlink within the ‘welcome letter’ on the new section’s home page.”
The city’s home page also includes a new “City Stimulus Projects” icon.  By clicking on the icon, residents can access updated information on local projects funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  Current projects include Community Development Block Grant Program improvements; public transportation improvements; energy efficiency and conservation projects; Byrne Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program initiatives; and Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) Hiring Program expansion.  An online chart includes project descriptions, funding levels, responsible agencies and current project status.
Questions or suggestions regarding the city’s Web site can be directed to Terry Payne, Public Information Director, 321-6806.
