Due to predicted inclement weather conditions for Friday, officials have decided to adjust the schedule of the Second Annual Henderson State/Spa City Division II Collegiate Softball Classic, to take place at Kimery Park on fields #2 and #4, 331 Kimery Lane. Originally a three-day tournament, sponsored by the Hot Springs Parks & Recreation Department and the Clarion Resort and hosted by Henderson State University, the event will be reduced to two days, with eight games being played Saturday, February 27 and eight games on Sunday, February 28. Game times for Saturday will be 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. Sunday’s games will be 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. The prestigious tournament features some of the best teams from the Gulf South Conference, Lone Star Conference, Great Lakes Valley League and Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association. This year’s participants include Henderson State, Arkansas-Monticello, Arkansas Tech, Ouachita Baptist, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Missouri Western, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Missouri-St. Louis. Admission for the tournament is $5 per day for adults, $3 for those ages 4 to 18, and free to those children 3 and under. Tournament passes can be purchased for $10 for adults, and $5 for those ages 4 through 18. The tournament schedule can be found here.
