982 new cases reported Wednesday

The following statistics were posted Wednesday, Sept. 23, on the Arkansas Department of Health’s (ADH) website:

  • 77,963 total cases, up 982 from Tuesday.
  • 75,646 total confirmed cases, up 874 from Tuesday. 
  • 2,317 total probable cases, up 108 from Tuesday.
  • 6,777 total active cases, up 194 from Tuesday.
  • 6,383 active confirmed cases, up 195 from Tuesday.
  • 68,178 recoveries, up 659 from Tuesday.
  • 1,080 total confirmed deaths, up 20 from Tuesday.
  • 149 probable deaths, no change from Tuesday.
  • 468 cases requiring hospitalization, up nine from Tuesday.
  • 90 cases requiring a ventilator, up two from Tuesday. 
  • 1,798 cumulative cases in Garland County, up 27 from Tuesday.
  • 155 active cases in Garland County, up 15 from Tuesday.
  • 1,594 recoveries in Garland County, up 12 from Tuesday.
  • 49 deaths in Garland County, no change from Tuesday.

In the past 24 hours, the number of positive PCR tests added in Arkansas was 874, with 848 from the community and 26 from correctional facilities. There were 108 positive antigen test results from a total of 1,732 antigen tests in the past 24 hours. The number of PCR tests completed in the past 24 hours was 6,460. 

The five counties with the highest number of new cases in the past 24 hours include Craighead with 79,Pulaski with 75, Benton with 57, Washington with 51 and Jefferson with 50.
