1,086 new cases reported today

The following statistics were posted Thursday, Sept. 24, on the Arkansas Department of Health’s (ADH) website:

  • 79,049 total cases, up 1,086 from Wednesday.
  • 76,676 total confirmed cases, up 1,030 from Wednesday. 
  • 2,373 total probable cases, up 56 from Wednesday.
  • 7,061 total active cases, up 284 from Wednesday.
  • 6,672 active confirmed cases, up 289 from Wednesday.
  • 68,902 recoveries, up 724 from Wednesday.
  • 1,097 total confirmed deaths, up 17 from Wednesday.
  • 149 probable deaths, no change from Wednesday.
  • 457 cases requiring hospitalization, down 11 from Wednesday.
  • 97 cases requiring a ventilator, up seven from Wednesday. 
  • 1,827 cumulative cases in Garland County, up 29 from Wednesday.
  • 173 active cases in Garland County, up 18 from Wednesday.
  • 1,604 recoveries in Garland County, up 10 from Wednesday.
  • 50 deaths in Garland County, up one from Wednesday.

In the past 24 hours, the number of positive PCR tests added in Arkansas was 1,030, with 1,002 from the community and 28 from correctional facilities. There were 56 positive antigen test results from a total of 1,148 antigen tests in the past 24 hours. The number of PCR tests completed in the past 24 hours was 8,405. 

The five counties with the highest number of new cases in the past 24 hours include Pulaski with 91, Jefferson with 69, Washington with 63, Benton with 58 and Sebastian with 41.
