Drug Take Back

The Hot Springs Police Department (HSPD) is committed to the safety and health of the citizens and tourists of Hot Springs as well as, encouraging the public to remove unwanted/expired medications from their homes as a measure to prevent misuse and as a preventive from addiction. To help with these efforts, HSPD offers citizens a safe opportunity to dispose of unwanted/expired medications.

The RX Disposal Drop-Off box is located in the front lobby of the Hot Springs Police Department, 641 Malvern Avenue. This box is available between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. Items can be left in the container or placed in a bag. HSPD also holds annual Drug Take Back events (normally one in the spring and one in the fall) which will be announced via the Hot Springs Police Department's social media.

  • Tablet
  • Ointments
  • Patches
  • Over-the-Counter / Prescribed 
  • Pet medicine
  • Vitamins

Item Types Not Accepted:

  • Needles (Injections)
  • Liquid
  • Illegal Drugs
  • Inhalers
  • Aerosol Cans
  • Thermometers
  • Lotion
  • Hydrogen Peroxide

Everything collected will be received and destroyed by the Arkansas Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Division.
