Earth Angel Update

For every ton of newspaper recycled we save 17 trees, 380 gallons of oil, three cubic yards of landfill space, and 7,000 gallons of water. Our Earth Angel program recycled 3.99 tons of newspaper last week alone. That is approximately 67 trees, 1,516 gallons of oil, 11 cubic yards of landfill space and 27,930 gallons of water saved.

Don’t forget, due to the upcoming Christmas holiday, all Sanitation routes will run one day behind normal schedule (i.e., Wednesday’s route will run on Thursday, Thursday’s route will run on Friday, etc.)

For more information about the Earth Angel Recycling program please call the Sanitation Department at 501-321-6911.
