OUR VALUES STATEMENT

COURAGE
We believe that Courage is the value that gives each of us the moral, mental and physical strength to do what is right, with confidence and resolution, even in the face of temptation or in times of danger. We recognize that “courage is not the absence of fear, but the mastery of it.” We stand firm in the face of danger, never backing down and will confront all threats to the safety and security of our community with strength, intelligence and sound tactics. We commit to have the courage to meet the demands of our profession and the mission entrusted to each of us. We promise to have the courage to make tough decisions and to always do the right thing.

HONOR
We are committed to honoring the profession of law enforcement and all that it stands for. We are committed to being accountable for our professional and personal behavior. We will be mindful of the privilege we have in serving the City of Hot Springs, our fellow citizens, visitors and fellow city employees. We believe in abiding by an uncompromising code of integrity, taking full responsibility for our actions and keeping our word; doing what we say we will do. We will conduct ourselves in the highest ethical manner in relationships with citizens, supervisors, peers and subordinates. We promise to be honest, truthful and fair in how we treat all people that we come in contact with, both within and outside the Hot Springs Police Department.

We strive for excellence in every action we take and encourage each employee to go beyond normal expectations. We strive for excellence through the effective and efficient use of resources. We promote teamwork by putting aside our personal needs and desires and substituting those for what is best for the entire organization.
