Stormwater Education

Common sources of stormwater pollution
Sedimentation is the main cause of water quality degradation in the state. Although sedimentation does occur through natural erosion, construction activities contribute to the majority of sediment that reaches our water bodies. Other common pollutants include: landscape debris, detergents from wash waters, concrete, trash, debris and food related wastes. The Be Water Wise brochure series, below, has been created to guide individuals and companies in Best Management Practices to help reduce the likelihood of stormwater pollution.
