The newly finished Hot Springs 3-million gallon Water Tank, behind the Cornerstone Marketplace, is in the running for the ‘2020 Tnemec Tank of the Year’ contest. Currently, the tank is in the top five for the “Tank of the Year” & ranked first for the “People’s Choice.” Residents are encouraged to vote on their favorite water tank from Oct. 5-16. This contest started in 2006 as a way for Tnemec “to celebrate the innovative & creative uses of its coatings on water tanks. Each year, tanks of all varieties from across the nation & Canada have been narrowed down to determine the one true Tank of the Year.” The winner for the “People’s Choice” & “Tank of the Year” will be announced on Oct. 19 & Oct. 23. The winner & eleven runner-ups will be featured in the Tnemec’s annual water tank calendar. The tank with the most votes during the polling period will be awarded as honorary People’s Choice.
