HOT SPRINGS – A one-day controlled burn will take place in a 3-acre area of Garvan Woodland Gardens either Monday, January 20 or Tuesday, January 21, depending on weather conditions. The burn, overseen by the Arkansas Forestry Commission and the Hot Springs Fire Department, will be conducted to control undergrowth on the westernmost end of the gardens and along the lake. Area residents may observe smoke during the burn. The gardens are traditionally closed to the public through the end of January.
