The Hot Springs Public Information Department, in cooperation with the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts, has added a live video stream to the city’s website of cleanup activities underway at the Majestic Hotel yellow brick site. The “MajestiCam” will be available live on cityhs.net weekdays from approximately 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Majesticam page can be found in the Departments menu under Public Information or by clicking a portal image located near the bottom of the city’s homepage. During hours when no live feed is available, previous daily recordings may be viewed on the city’s YouTube channel, also accessible from cityhs.net.
The project is made possible without using taxpayer dollars, through the use of previously retired computer and video equipment and free YouTube live streaming services. The ASMSA IT Department is providing internet connectivity, and the city’s Information Systems Department assisted with computer configuration.
“Since the Majestic Hotel property is of such high interest to many individuals and groups throughout the community and the state, we wanted to provide a way for people to view the progress that’s taking place,” said Public Information Director Terry Payne. “We also hope to create a time-lapse video with the archived recordings.”
