City occupation taxes are due no later than March 31 for all businesses operating within or conducting business within the city limits. City ordinance 3836 requires any business operating in the city to obtain an occupation tax license. On April 1, a 10-percent penalty will be applied to all occupation taxes not received by the March 31 deadline. Those owning a business that was closed during 2015 and who received a 2016 occupation tax statement must give written notice to the city revenue office to have the business removed from the tax rolls. Payments may be made at the Bill Edwards Center, 517 Airport Road, Suite C, Room 12 between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays. For information call 321-6826.
