Hot Springs police chief candidate Philip Dupuis, currently serving as the chief of police for the City of Conroe, Texas, withdrew his candidacy for the Hot Springs position late Friday afternoon. “Upon finding out through the media, the City of Conroe has given me options that make it advantageous for me to continue with the Conroe Police Department,” Dupuis stated in an email. “I would like to thank the City of Hot Springs for considering me for employment, and I wish the candidate that receives the job the best of luck as the new chief.”
The four police chief finalists will visit with the Board of Directors and the public at a meet-and-greet reception from 5 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. today in Rooms 203 and 204 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
