[ARCHIVED] City manager recommends radio system proposal to the Hot Springs Board of Directors

Following an intensive review, City Manager David Frasher informed the Hot Springs Board of Directors today of his concurrence with the P25 Communication System Evaluation Committee of their attached recommendation for a new radio communications system for the City of Hot Springs. The eight-member committee unanimously recommended the Motorola Solutions Alternate (AWIN) Proposal in the amount of $4,900,477. That amount was negotiated down by the committee earlier this month from Motorola Solutions’ initial proposal of $6,049,346.

Frasher intensively reviewed all materials as well as reference checks with the cities of Little Rock, Jonesboro, Fayetteville and Fort Smith before concurring with the committee’s recommendation.

“Please join me in thanking the committee for their outstanding work on behalf of the community,” Frasher said in an email to the board. Frasher’s recommendation will be included in the agenda packet for the next regular Board of Directors meeting on November 7.
