City Ordinance #6217 goes into effect on Monday, with a public education period also beginning on the same date. During this period, police officers may distribute paper copies of the ordinance. They may also issue verbal warnings to any individuals who are observed violating the ordinance, which prohibits physical interaction in the public roadway between occupants of a motor vehicle and pedestrians for the purposes of public safety.
