The Hot Springs Firefighter 5K Run will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday. The race will require progressive lane or street closures beginning at Hot Springs Tower on North Mountain down to Fountain Street, turning south on Central Avenue turning onto Spring Street, then to Malvern Avenue, ending at the Transportation Depot on Broadway Street. Lanes or streets will re-open as the race progresses.
The Hot Springs Open Bike Rally Parade will take place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday. The parade will require street and intersection closures beginning at Oaklawn Racing & Gaming on Central Avenue, north on Central through downtown Hot Springs, turning onto Park Avenue to Gulpha Gorge Road, ending at the Hot Springs Convention Center. Streets will re-open as the parade progresses.
Malvern Avenue, from Bridge Street to Spring Street, will be closed to through traffic from 10 a.m. on Friday until 1 a.m. on Sunday to be utilized as the Hot Springs Open Bike Rally Concession Area.
Alternating lane closures will occur on McClard Street, between Albert Pike Road and Campbell Street, beginning Monday, September 10 through Friday, October 19 for communication cable installation.
Signs will be posted, and motorists are asked to use caution when traveling in the area.
