Traffic improvements at the intersection of Airport Road and West. St. Louis Street are now fully functional, including a new section of street, two traffic lights, two lighted pedestrian crosswalks, accessible curb cuts and sidewalks. The state half-cent sales tax helped fund the city’s share of the project, which will result not only in greater safety for motorists, but also for the pedestrians that walk to area businesses from nearby neighborhoods. The intersection has statistically been one of the most accident-prone in the city.
