[ARCHIVED] Hope Works program announced

Press conference - Hope Works and Jackson House

Hot Springs community crisis center Jackson House hosted a press conference at on Dec. 18, 2019, to announce the formation of a sister organization called Hope Works.

The City of Hot Springs developed the Hope Works pilot program to offer the homeless and panhandlers the opportunity to earn minimum wage to pick up litter along public areas and roadways. The program will link participants with needed services, especially support services offered by local churches and non-profits.

“Hope Works is another tool to help impacted citizens with the services they need, while offering them the opportunity to achieve employment and beautify the city,” said City Manager Bill Burrough, who will also be sharing remarks at the press conference.

Jackson House agreed to be the City’s third-party partner in getting this program started in Hot Springs.

The press conference will also provide Jackson House the opportunity to unveil its new logo and tagline, and to announce record proceeds from its recent fundraiser.

Jackson House was formed in 1976, and provides short-term emergency assistance for basic needs. For more information, contact Janie Smith ( or 501-617-0032) or Christi Nation (
