HOT SPRINGS -- The Hot Springs Open Bike Rally Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, September 5 at the Oaklawn Racetrack. The parade will travel north on Central Avenue, continuing on Park Avenue through Gulpha Gorge and ending at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The event is expected to last for one hour, and will involve street or lane closures as the parade progresses along the route.
Malvern Avenue from Bridge to Spring Street will be closed to through traffic beginning at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 5 until midnight on Saturday, September 6 for the bike rally concession area.
The Hot Springs Firefighter Memorial 5K Run/Walk will be held beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, September 6 at the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, moving along Fountain Street, and then south on Central Avenue along the sidewalk in front of Bathhouse Row. The race, held in memory of the heroes who lost their lives on 9/11, will end at the Transportation Depot across from the Central Fire Station. The run will require street closures as runners approach intersections along the route.
Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling in any of these areas during the events.
