HOT SPRINGS -- Due to the recent discovery of a procedural oversight involving legal publication requirements that were not met, the City of Hot Springs will re-publish legal notices beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, September 23, regarding the availability of the 2012 Arkansas Fire Prevention Code, Volumes 1, 2 and 3, for public inspection in the city clerk’s office. This will be done in advance of Board of Directors consideration of approval of the 2012 Arkansas Fire Prevention Code and the Thermal Basin Fire District ordinance.
The three volumes of the AFPC are state law and enforceable anywhere at any time within the State of Arkansas as of January 1, 2014. Arkansas State Law ACA 12-13-108 delegates the responsibility for the enforcement of the State Fire Code to local officials.
