With an anticipated eight to 10 inches of rainfall and possible flash flooding predicted as early as Sunday, coupled with already saturated ground, the City of Hot Springs is taking proactive measures to protect the downtown area. Crews have been called in tomorrow to fill sandbags. Should weather conditions warrant, pallets of sandbags will be placed in each block of downtown as well as Hill Wheatley Plaza for use by downtown merchants and property owners.
Residents are asked to refrain from parking on Central Avenue on Sunday afternoon and Sunday evening in order to keep streets clear as a precautionary measure.
