HOT SPRINGS -- Residents are invited to attend a Community Development Advisory Committee meeting at 1 pm on Thursday, January 2 in the Board Chambers at City Hall, 133 Convention Boulevard, to review results of a recent survey to voice comments regarding a related amendment to the CDBG housing rehabilitation program.
This amendment will have a direct effect on the CDBG housing rehabilitation program by either decreasing or eliminating the funding available to low- and moderate-income households for major and minor home repairs.
The amendment may provide funds for neighborhood revitalization infrastructure and affordable housing related projects such as sidewalks, streets, city parks, drainage improvements, empty lot development, home-buyer education program and demolition of condemned buildings.
In a recent citizen participation survey, 78% of residents preferred funding neighborhood revitalization projects, 19% preferred housing rehabilitation, and 3% preferred both.
