Marcia A. Dobbs-Smith joined the City Board representing District 3 on Jan. 1, 2021.
She is a lifelong volunteer who cares deeply about Hot Springs, having served on numerous boards and commissions. She has been a member and past president of the Downtown Merchants Association; a member of the Business Professional Women’s Foundation; a member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Hot Springs; past chair of the Historic District Commission; and a member of the Community Development Advisory Committee.
She participated in Envision Hot Springs 2040, and has completed training with the National Preservation Institute. It is her belief that citizen involvement is paramount, and that those involved should be accessible.
She owns the Grand Lagniappe Shoppe, and she credits hard work and fairness for serving to make her business successful for more than 30 years.
Dobbs-Smith holds a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics and Business. She is also a graduate of the Leadership Hot Springs Class VI.
Marcia and her husband, Steve, were married on St. Patrick’s Day in 2003 and attended the First Ever 1st Annual World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade. They are the parents of Patrick (Dawn) Dobbs and have three grandchildren.
